Platform: Alzheimer’s Awareness

Ashley Lynn Little, Miss Southwest Michigan Teen 2018, is a caring young woman who is dedicated to her platform of raising awareness for Alzheimer's research and patient care. She wants to make a difference in the Awareness of Alzheimer's within her small corner of the world.

Ashley choose her platform based on her family. In her family Alzheimer's is a hereditary disease that has yet to skip a generation. This platform is very close to her heart having watched some of her family members suffer from this disease very early on.

Ashley was born and raised in Southwest Michigan. She is the daughter of Jason and Crystal Little, and the third child of 4 Ashley's 3 siblings include Zachary age 20, Alyssa age 16, and Anthony age 4.

Throughout her life she has had many amazing role models that have lead her to be a young woman of leadership, responsibleness, patience, integrity, motivation, and many other skills. Ashley is a freshman at Coloma High School and plans to attend The University of Michigan and become an elementary school teacher.

Within her year of service as Miss Southwest Michigan Teen 2018, Ashley is excited most about all the community service and speaking engagements she will get to participate in. Ashley wants to reach out and touch as many lives as she possibly can throughout Southwest Michigaan.

Ambition: To obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Michigan; become a elementary school teacher in my hometown of Coloma.

Hobbies: Babysitting, fishing, reading, singing, church/volunteer work, traveling, camping, cooking, playing pool, spending time with friends and family.

Other Accomplishments: 2018 Miss Southwest Michigan Scholarship Program the Katherina Baumgartner Academic Award, Leadership Award, Speech Award, Ticket Sales Award, Salute Ad Sales Award. Honor Roll all year-round, Spanish Achievement Award 2 years in a row, President's Education Award. 2015 Southwest Michigan’s Pre-Teen Scholarship Program the Speech Award and People's Choice Award.
